About

The Institute for Behavioral Genetics is a global leader in understanding how genes and life experiences combine to shape brain health and behavior. Alzheimer’s is the leading cause of age-related dementia, yet the biological changes that trigger the disease may begin decades before memory loss appears. Our Alzheimer’s disease research program identifies early biological signals, unravels causal pathways, and develops targeted prevention strategies that keep minds healthy across the lifespan. Our multidisciplinary team uses cutting-edge genetic, behavioral, and biological methods to map the molecular and environmental mechanisms that drive disease progression. Philanthropic support will fund translating discovery into action: earlier detection, better risk prediction, and interventions that can delay or prevent Alzheimer’s—so fewer families face its devastating burden.
