Joey Azofeifa

Joey entered IQ Biology as a Molecular Biologist and ended with a PhD in Computer Science. His work at CU bridged genomics and AI, which led him and BioFrontiers Professor Robin Dowell to co-found Arpeggio Biosciences, a company that leverages network biology for drug discovery. In 2020, Joey was named one of Forbes’s 30 Under 30 in Healthcare.

Sharon Wu

Sharon earned her undergraduate degrees in Computer Science and Molecular Biology from MIT before joining IQ Biology and seeking PhD programs committed to interdisciplinary studies of infectious diseases. In the lab of BioFrontiers Professor Sara Sawyer, Sharon now studies emerging viruses that threaten to jump from animals to humans and how human bodies respond to viral infections, especially dengue and HIV.

Kristen Schneider

As an undergraduate, Kristen was trained in biomedical engineering and came to IQ Bio for a Computer Science PhD in computational medicine. Working with BioFrontiers Professor Ryan Layer, Kristen has developed AI and genomics-based methods to improve healthcare equity and personalize clinical analyses, from disease risk scores to drug dose decisions based on the patient’s individual genome.
