Societal impact is at the heart of every research project at IBS. IBS researchers partner directly with schools, communities, agencies, and policymakers to inform policy and build programs that improve safety, well‑being, and opportunity across Colorado and the nation. The Center for the Study and Prevention of Violence has launched more than 130 initiatives o strengthen violence-prevention efforts in schools and communities. From 2022 to 2024, the Center for Resilience and Well-Being trained more than 12,000 professionals to support the social and emotional development of youth and adults.

IBS researchers at the CU Population Center continue shaping critical policy discussions, providing expert testimony on reproductive health access to congressional committees and other decision-making bodies. And the newly founded CU Center on Crime and Justice is an interdisciplinary hub improving how we understand and respond to crime. With Buffs All In support, IBS can expand research that translates knowledge into meaningful, measurable change.
